ROBERT J. LONGHENRY, 50 CALEDONIA - Robert J. Longhenry, 50, of Caledonia died Friday, July 6, 2007, in Rockford Memorial Hospital from complications of leukemia. He was surrounded by loved ones and friends. He was born May 5, 1957, in Rockford to Robert L. and Phyllis A. (LeBrun) Longhenry.
He graduated from West High School. He worked at Ingersoll, Daley Design, MFA Engineering, Litton Industrial Automotive and Mag Cincinnati Assy & Test as a machine operator, designer, design and project engineer. Married Marcia L. Brown in 1985, and had 22 years together and two wonderful daughters, Rachael and Marissa. He loved to travel and tinker with his cars, mow his yard and play with his dog, Jake. He will be missed and remembered always by those who loved him.
Survived by wife, Marcia; daughters, Rachael and Marissa; sisters, Victoria "Vickie" (Jim Svestka) Brown, Rebecca (Kurt) Kluge; brothers, Tim (Denise) and Brian (Karen) of Austin, Texas; many nieces and nephews and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Predeceased by his parents, Phyllis and Bob; nephew, Bert Livingston. Special thanks to all his friends and co-workers at Mag Cincinnati Assy & Test, Shelby Erickson a family friend, his oncologist Dr. Khuu and staff at RMH. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with the Rev. William Richard Kerr Sr., officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial to the family to be used to benefit his children's college education.
